Mingle is a WordPress plugin which allows you to turn any WordPress powered blog into a fully-functioning social network, without any coding. Mingle is a very popular plugin with more than 65 000 downloads. This lead to the creation of WordPress plugins specifically meant to enhance and extend the capabilities of your Mingle powered community. Below is the list of plugins currently available for free from the WordPress official plugin repository.
1. Mingle Forum
This is actually a plugin does not require Mingle to run, but slots in very nicely, allowing you to add a fully-functioning discussion board anywhere on your blog.
Mingle Forum allows you to easily and quickly put a Forum on your WordPress site/blog.
This another plugin that I use on LivingWP, which allows users to login / register on your Mingle powered site with their Facebook account. Try it out.
Sidebar LoginLogout widget for Mingle with Facebook Connect button
This plugin is meant to be used with the Mingle Forum plugin, which I’m guessing you already use. This can be a great tool if you want to grow your discussion board without requiring registration, but be aware, spamming will follow.
Mingle Forum Guest Info allows you to enable guest posts to Mingle Forum without registration while still collecting contributor’s email info.
Show your visitors and members how many people you currently have wandering around your site. Works sometimes… no always for me.
Enable you to display how many users are online on your WordPress blog with detailed statistics. Now has corrected url linking for Mingle User Profile
Haven’t tried this one before so please let me know how it works.
Widget for displaying User with location and website in your sidebar or anywhere using the shortcode < ? php Live_UsersLoc_shortcode(); ? >
Used this one a while back, can’t really say anything more than that. Let me know.
This is a very simple widget that displays your mingle friend requests and user status in a sidebar widget.
You can also look for the Mingle Aweber Signup plugin and the Donation Plugin, but I’m not sure how actively they’re being supported. See the IcomNow Store, where you can find more free and paid mingle plugins.
Remember you will need Mingle or Mingle Forum activated on your blog to use the plugins above. Also make sure you check when the last plugin updates were and if their still being supported, otherwise give them a skip.
