Yes, it’s the day of sharing! If you would like to create your own WordPress drop-down menu and do a easy setup with the help of a plugin, then you’ve found the right post.

I would like to introduce Pixopoint Dropdown Menu CSS Generator and Multi-level Navigation Plugin.

To setup your new menu follow these easy steps:

1. Install and Activate the Multi-level Navigation Plugin.

2. Create your new menu with the Pixopoint Dropdown Menu CSS Generator.

3. Visit the plugin in your WordPress admin interface, click on the “Appearance” tab, copy the code generated by Step 2 in the space where it says, “Enter the CSS for your main menu here”. Click “Update Options”.

4. Now you return to the “Home” tab and copy the code which looks like this :

<.. ?php if (function_exists(’pixopoint_menu’)) {pixopoint_menu();} ? .. >

(Here comes the tricky part… for beginners.)

5.  In the WordPress Admin Interface Find and Click “Editor” and then “Header” (header.php).

6. Find the line which looks something like this :

<…?php wp_list_pages(’title_li=&depth=1&include=’ . get_option(’ts_nav_pages’)); ?..> and replace it with the code in Step 4.

The easiest option would just be to search for “wp_list_pages” in your header code.

That should about do it. You will find examples at www.pixopoint.com

I’ve noticed more and more visitors come here looking for Social Networking content, themes, plugins and directories.

To help you out I’ve opened three new sections in my free link directory, Ning, Elgg and BuddyPress. So if you have a site powered by any of those platforms, feel free to add it to my directory.

I recently noticed a lot of South African bloggers mentioning a Ning powered Blogging Social Network, located at http://sabloggers.ning.com . It seems, however, that the site was closed down. I decided to setup a new Ning powered community at the same adress.

So, if you’re a South African blogger who would like to share and connect with other South African bloggers, please visit http://sabloggers.ning.com

I’ve worked with the P2 theme before and thought it would be a great setup for my new community driven Rugby Blog. Basically the blog is a place for rugga lovers to share their opinions on rugby games and players etc. They will also be able to post Youtube vids and hopefully pictures.

My favorite find up and to know is the MiniMeta plugin which allows me to completely control the Wp-meta widget. Everything seems to be working together rather nicely.

I would love to hear your opinions so far. If you use or plan on using P2, drop a comment. I would love to check it out.

Recently I’ve been very busy focusing on other business projects and consequently miss out on writing more for this blog. It’s a shame because the blog receives a constant stream of traffic. This is where you come in.

I will be adding two 125X125 ad buttons above the Twitter and Rss feed buttons in the sidebar. Every week you submit a post to Purple Hazard your ad will be displayed in either one or both of those spots.  You will also be allowed to link back to your blog from the posts you submit.

If you would like to take part please register for an account and submit the post as a contributor OR join the forum and submit your post there.

Recently I made a post about Forum Server, which is a great forum plugin for WordPress. I even called it “awesome” and “the best”. Bbrian from over at Blogengage,  thought otherwise and steered me over to Simple:Press.

Now I don’t usually change my mind so quick, but I have to say this Wordpress plugin is even more awesome than the Forum Server plugin.

Easy to install, integration is flawless and the best part is the Blog Post ot Forum option. This allows you to start a forum thread every time you make a new blog post. The post will also have link to the forum thread so people can join the community and take part in the discussion.

One of the great ways of increasing you blog traffic and ranking is with quality comments, either on your blog or from you on another persons blog. Wouldn’t it be even better if you’re assured of a comment on your blog when you comment on someone else’s blog?

Well now you will be. Blogengage Forum Community now has a comment exchange section where you can post a link to your preferred post and so setup a comment exchange. You can either comment on some-one’s blog and then post a link to your blog OR start your own post with your blog link.

For this thing to work, it is important that everyone is honest and do what they have to do.

We are in the process of launching a new BuddyPress community specifically for African bloggers, named Zumame. We will cover all the costs associated with hosting and setup, but we’re still looking for two possible admin members.

You do not have to be an African citizen to become part of this project. We require a coder, designer and/or administrator with BuddyPress and WordPress experience.

Please post a comment so we can get in contact with you. You can also visit the Forum and join the Zumame discussion.
