Simple Press WordPress Forum Plugin

Posted in Blogging, Plugins, Tutorials on September 1st, 2009 by Icd – 1 Comment

Recently I made a post about Forum Server, which is a great forum plugin for WordPress. I even called it “awesome” and “the best”. Bbrian from over at Blogengage,  thought otherwise and steered me over to Simple:Press.

Now I don’t usually change my mind so quick, but I have to say this WordPress plugin is even more awesome than the Forum Server plugin.

Easy to install, integration is flawless and the best part is the Blog Post ot Forum option. This allows you to start a forum thread every time you make a new blog post. The post will also have link to the forum thread so people can join the community and take part in the discussion.

Try a different forum plugin here.

WordPress Forum Plugin

This is the best and most complete one-click install, fully integrated forum plugin available for WordPress IMO. I was actually searching for the BBpress integration plugin, but then stumbled upon “Forum Server”.  Decided I will try it out on one of my test blogs and voila, one click and a fully integrated working forum.

I usually don’t go all crazy about plugins, but this one seriously is awesome. You can install it via , Plugins->Add New->Forum Server->Activate.

Download It Here.

I Found Another Great Forum Plugin.

You can also use Mingle Forum , see it in action Here.

Keep Blog Visitors Longer

Posted in Blogging, Marketing on June 14th, 2009 by Icd – 4 Comments

If you do a quick search on Google for “Keep Blog Visitors Longer” you will certainly find different nifty ways of keeping your blog visitors interested in your site for a longer time. Some of these will include better content, using a forum, provide coupons, ask questions, be a nice person and smile.

Yes, many of these work and many don’t , but you’re always free to try them.

My tip fortunately always works. It’s as easy as installing the Related post plugin. To satisfy my blogging needs I use the Add-Post-Footer-Plugin.

Add Post Footer Plugin for wordpress, automatically add any custom paragraph, html code, ad code, technorati tags and/or related links list to the end of every posts. All global options are fully customized via wordpress admin option section.

I use it to add custom links and a related links list to the end of my posts. To use the related links list effectively you should include similar posts in the same categories and use the same tags.

You can view the Related Links List in action, right underneath this post.

I hope this helps.
